On Location
The Mowbray is a great location in Sheffield to exhibit, launch and showcase. You'll find us on the ground floor, behind huge original factory doors. Simply slide open for a dramatic entrance and even ‘drive on in’ for car launches and those times when a grand piano is just what’s needed! We also host a wide range of media events and happenings; from interviews for press, TV and film to product launches and brand launches for global names. We also host film premieres and screenings for up to 220 guests. Head on up to the first floor for access to our private roof garden for an extra layer of space, possibilities and opportunities.

Photoshoots & Filming
We have hosted some of the World’s greatest photographers including Rankin. We host Sheffield photo shoots for product, fashion and music, as well as being a back-drop for corporate publicity, including press days/nights as well as interviews and debates. We work with some of the best in the business to deliver a super slick and powerful platform for you to be whatever and whoever you need to be. Do it all in House! The Mowbray has a dedicated team of photographers, food and prop stylists available at day rates and project basis.
Exhibition
Set up for the day, the weekend or stay for longer. We are the perfect Sheffield exhibition space with flexible floor plans to help you achieve your goals. Set up as a gallery space for art shows and art launches or explore how our multilevel space can work for you with traders and exhibitors.
Car Launches
The Mowbray was specifically designed to drive cars into. Drive through the factory doors and through our custom made bi-folding crittall screens and park up! We've already hosted Porsche for the unveiling of the new 992 911 Porsche for a spectacular evening of cars, music, great food and drink. We also took care of private parking for guests and event and location security.
Screenings
We host a multitude of Sheffield based film events and screenings at The Mowbray. We can seat up to 220 in 'cinema' format - giving everyone an excellent view of the screen and it's perfect for Q&A's with directors and stars of the show! Of course the bar is open for welcome drinks, interval tipples and post screening debate and The Mowbray Kitchen can match film themes with cinema snacks and favourites. What more do you need!
Vision Capture
We play host to many photographers, stylists and brands who use The Mowbray to capture their vision. This beautiful shoot was set up and styled at The Mowbray to promote Swallows & Damsons’ new best selling book ‘The Flower Fix’. Shot by India Hobson and styled as Dutch Master masterpiece against a Mowbray Green backdrop.
Location
We’re proud to be based in Neepsend - rich in Industry and honest trade - it’s the sort of place where you can stumble upon real heritage and ‘old ways’ of an industrial area and see new beginnings of a new generation start to appear and flourish. It’s also right on the money if you’re looking for history, architecture, beauty, the raw edge, forest and water.
Arrivals
We are a 5 minute drive from the Sheffield parkway directly off the M1, 5 minutes in a taxi from Sheffield train station. There is a bus stop directly behind The Mowbray and we are a 5 minute walk from the Shalesmoor Tram. Main Room
Revealed behind original factory doors on a historic ground floor of a building from 1889, The Mowbray is a private building, family owned, operated and built on the foundations of experience, creativity and hospitality. We're proud to be a true Sheffield creation - everything has been designed and made bespoke for the building within a mile's radius of the building.
Mowbray Bar
A beautiful antique drinks cabinet matched with reclaimed slates with polished brass fixings are always the talking point at The Bar. Always well stocked with carefully chosen wines, premium draught beers, champagnes, our favourite spirits and non-boozy options. We'll mix, make and shake your favourite cocktail too!
The Terrace
Explore further - through 150 year old rooms and head upstairs to a private roof garden complete with British blooms, herbs for the kitchen and bar and carefully curated planting reflective of Neepsend heritage and environment. A real all-day sun trap - it is an excellent Summer hide-out - and always a beautiful space for drinks, photography and some good Sheffield air!
Two Locations
We own two of the most striking and iconic Sheffield buildings in the City. Both The Chimney House and The Mowbray are steeped in history and have been restored by our award winning design team 93ft. We are proud to be able to offer you the luxury of using both spaces together or individually. A short walk alongside the waterways of the River Don connects The Mowbray in Neepsend and The Chimney House perched on the water’s edge on Kelham Island.
