Served in plentitude on our feasting tables - expect a visual delight as well as a taste sensation! The Kitchen is at the heart and soul of The Mowbray. We have developed our own feasting style - ‘Grand Dining’ - that suits every occasion from when the sun rises until the stars come out, we’ve got it covered. Think breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, secret suppers and dinner. We are proud champions of local and regional ingredients and forage, bake, make, cure, pickle and preserve our way through each month and season.

Celebrate under our ancient beams, feast by candlelight, enjoy Mowbray tipples and cocktails at the bar - we’ll make sure all of your favourites are in plenitude and each and every detail has been looked after! Business Dining
We’ve been hosting daily business dining for a decade at our sister venue The Chimney House. We are well known for our eye for detail and our ability to provide a seamless transition from presentation into dinner. We work with international brands looking for impressive surrounds and reassuringly excellent dining to local businesses wanting to showcase Sheffield alongside their company name. We deliver a complete package from our historic Sheffield building to Sheffield and Yorkshire ingredients, bespoke menus and all inclusive drinks options.
The Mowbray Bar
The Mowbray wine list is beautifully chosen from boutique merchants and specialists doing great stuff in small batches. We’ll serve up our famous House Serves from our favourite local gin brewers and will make and shake your favourite cocktails - from classics to Mowbray specials - and some fantastic English sparklings! We’ll also serve you premium lagers and the best local craft ales from the multitude of Sheffield breweries just a step away from The Mowbray’s front doors. Our beautiful repurposed leather drinks guide will take you through from arrival drinks to something indulgent to finish your feast!
Taking Care of Everything
Feast with us! Invite between 20 and 160 guests to be seated for a wonderful dining experience or up to 250 guests for a grazing and roaming style event. Here’s what’s included in your time with us!

The Roof Terrace
British blooms, herbs and a view out over the woodlands of Neepsend - the perfect place for drinks, photographs and special times. You’ll find our private terrace tucked away on the first floor for your use only!

The Mowbray Kitchen loves seasonal food - and we are a local and regional food champion! We only serve our best most freshly baked bread and cakes plus a whole world of Mowbray pickles and deliciously cured and roasted tip top perfect of tastiest items!
Tipples
The Mowbray Bar is well stocked with a finely curated selection of wines, local ales, our favourite spirits and non boozy choices. We’ll mix, make and shake your favourite cocktail too! We’ll look after your Welcome drinks, the special announcements and toasts. We’ll have your champers on ice and the bubbles just waiting to pop!
Luxury Amentities
We are one of the few venues in the North to stock the iconic Aesop amenities. We have chosen Reverence Aromatique Hand Wash and Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm to add a super dose of luxury to your day.
Table Layouts
Tell us your numbers and your for your time with us and we’ll make it happen. We’ll advise on the best table plan for you and your guests. Our bespoke made furniture is all flexible - so we can scale up or scale down!

Audio Visual
Relax! Plug and play! Full colour projector, screen, full audio/visual services. Superfast fibre WiFi broadband of course - and all of our lighting operates on dimmers.
Heating, Light & Fresh Air
The Mowbray is a luxurious space that is fully heated in the Winter and cooled in the Summer. We also have a giant set of 20ft high drapes that can be pulled to when the natural light needs blocking.
Finishing Touches
Notice tiny details and delights along the way from cutlery from Sheffield’s W.Wright, Peak District blooms from our house gardener Marianne Slater and soft floral sensory notes floating on the air from our bespoke blend, custom made from Essence and Alchemy.

We are a 5 minute drive from the Sheffield parkway directly off the M1, 5 minutes in a taxi from Sheffield train station. There is a bus stop directly behind The Mowbray and we are a 5 minute walk from the Shalesmoor Tram. Main Room
Revealed behind original factory doors on a historic ground floor of a building from 1889, The Mowbray is a private building, family owned, operated and built on the foundations of experience, creativity and hospitality. We're proud to be a true Sheffield creation - everything has been designed and made bespoke for the building within a mile's radius of the building.
Mowbray Bar
A beautiful antique drinks cabinet matched with reclaimed slates with polished brass fixings are always the talking point at The Bar. Always well stocked with carefully chosen wines, premium draught beers, champagnes, our favourite spirits and non-boozy options. We'll mix, make and shake your favourite cocktail too!
The Terrace
Explore further - through 150 year old rooms and head upstairs to a private roof garden complete with British blooms, herbs for the kitchen and bar and carefully curated planting reflective of Neepsend heritage and environment. A real all-day sun trap - it is an excellent Summer hide-out - and always a beautiful space for drinks, photography and some good Sheffield air!
A Tale of Two Houses
We own two of the most striking and iconic Sheffield buildings in the City. Both The Chimney House and The Mowbray are steeped in history and have been restored by our award winning design team 93ft. We are proud to be able to offer you the luxury of using both spaces together or individually. A short walk alongside the waterways of the River Don connects The Mowbray in Neepsend and The Chimney House perched on the water’s edge on Kelham Island.
