Retirement Celebration
We were so proud to host a very special evening for the retirement of B. Braun's Chairman Hans Hux in January.
We love what The High Sheriff of South Yorkshire had to say about the evening...
"On the evening of 30th of January we went to The Mowbray in Neepsend for the retirement dinner of Hans Hux of B Braun.
A thoroughly nice man who has had an amazing and hugely successful career at the company, over 41 years. There were touching tribute speeches from work colleagues, members of the board, Richard Caborne , Derek Anderson - the President of the RCOS , Yuri Matischen of the Sheffield Sharks basketball team and Peter Sunderland of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The Menu
We served our signature feasting menu - The Laden Table which is a celebration of the very best of seasonal ingredients. We matched the menu with our Super Deluxe drinks package including a very nice champagne for guests arrivals.
On The Table To Start
Mowbray-made focaccia (v)
Jerusalem artichokes with poached pear & walnuts, drizzled with truffle oil (v, ve)
Home smoked haddock with pickled leeks & chervil mayonnaise
Reblochon Tartiflette; a warm little cheesy bake, to take the chill off winter (v)
The Main Event
Chargrilled Yorkshire 32 day dry aged Picanha steak, (a brazilian cut with a nice piece of fat on top to keep the meat juicy & delicious) served medium rare, sliced and dressed with salsa verde

Whole roasted market fish with lemon & herbs

A delicious Mowbray made pie, full of the pick of seasonal vegetables and tasty extras

Roast British cabbage (v, ve)
Hasselback potatoes with parsley, mustard & shallot dressing (v, ve)
Cavolo nero with braised celeriac (v, ve)
Chicory salad with Yorkshire blue cheese dressing & toasted pecans (v)
Followed by Pudding
Blackberry frangipane with Yorkshire creme fraiche
Wintery ginger spiced crispy meringue with creamy mascarpone and plums roasted with red wine & spices
To Finish
Mowbray Scent Ganache: The glorious scent of the Mowbray, custom made for us by Essence + Alchemy distilled into a square of silky dark chocolate ganache. We’ve used smoked tea, rose & house-grown geraniums to capture our scent.
The Reaction
"I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and to everyone who ensured that we had such a wonderful evening.
The space is absolutely stunning, the food was incredible and the band were amazing.
The feedback from all the guests has been amazing with everyone saying what a great night and what a great venue it is.
The atmosphere on the evening was amazing and it was the perfect venue for the retirement of B. Braun's Chairman Hans Hux.
