Up On The Roof is found on our private first floor rooftop which was part of the original restoration of The Mowbray. It’s a complete hideaway escape with leafy green views over Park Wood Springs and the historic rooftops of Neepsend.
There’s something really special about cooking and eating outside - senses are heightened, great vibes happen. We’ll look after you with garden cocktails and beers from our rooftop bar, a spring/summer al fresco soundtrack from our vintage 70’s speakers and plenty of good mood food and feels...
We cook with charcoal and wood and with fire and flames Up On The Roof. Fresh BBQ beachy vibes and all the flavour from low and slow. Think of a whole grilled fish, cote de beouf and lobster sort of a feast served up with zingy fresh salads, epic sauces and plenty of flatbread. As ever we’ll be serving up seasonal and exceptional ingredients - working to a daily menu with a ‘what’s great right now’ thinking.
Beautifully designed to sit against our sandy stone wall - our roof bar is fully equipped to keep the garden cocktails flowing! Set within picking distance of fresh herbs and edible flowers the bar is influenced by The Mowbray Kitchen so you’ll always find treats like wildflower syrup and roast strawberry and pink peppercorn gin starring on our drinks list.
An all new environment for The Mowbray - this is a 12 seater bolthole for private dining, clandestine meetings and a hideyhole for secret gatherings. Complete with a pair of vintage Monitor Audio speakers from the ‘70’s and a telly as well as a treats from the sideboard - it’s a perfect getaway to use in tandem with downstairs or separately.
Up On The Roof & The Cabin are both available for private hire. Perfect for away days and training sessions with your team with lunch and drinks in the sun - or through the evenings and weekends for celebrations and weddings. It’s the perfect rooftop retreat in our great Sheffield outdoors!
We occasionally run a BBQ series Up On The Roof in addition to The Mowbray’s Supper Clubs. Sometimes we pair our Supper Clubs with some time spent Up On The Roof - so on occasion you’ll find pre dinner drinks and snacks as the sun sets and feasting downstairs in The Mowbray!
We grow our kitchen herbs and savouries Up On The Roof. We’ve also teamed up with Bloom Sheffield who promote positive mental health through therapeutic horticulture working together as a female community to develop and maintain a cutting garden. Bloom is working with us to create a beautiful floral feast for the senses in a rooftop garden takeover! Be sure to order the Bloom Cocktail!
