The Scene Is Set
The Mowbray Feasting tables are a sight to behold... The reclaimed timber tops atop the custom wrought iron legs effortlessly set a scene for your feast to unfold.
Styled with tumbling blooms and leafy foliage in antique or vintage vessels - with stacks of real wax candles casually burning and dripping held in years old brass candlestick holders...It's our signature stamp for any feasting celebration at our place.
Served as a rolling feast - plate after plate arrives at your table - until there's no more room...It's all hands on deck - forks, spoons and knives at the ready to feast! We've never served individual plates - to us - there's nothing finer than passing plates, sharing food and going back in for seconds, thirds and leaning back in our 1940's chairs stuffed to the brim. It's what makes us tick.
Modern ceramics, retro plates, tins and enamel dishes placed cheek to cheek with antique serving platters (we have some seriously old and beautiful 'chargers') beautifully arranged and picked to compliment the feasting food. How things look and how our food is presented to our guests is of the utmost importance - it's the heart and soul of everything we do.
Everything from The Mowbray Kitchen - breads, cakes, smoking, pickling, preserving, curing... Everything made fresh daily. Created from the finest ingredients - always seasonal - bringing depth, flavour and the lightest of touch to each plate, bowl, fork and mouthful. Our biggest (favourite) and most frequent compliment post event is "our guests couldn't stop talking about the food..."!

The Mowbray Porchetta - Yorkshire raised pork belly rolled around the tenderloin - seasoned with lemon, dried chilli, toasted fennel, rosemary & garlic. With marsala cream sauce and salsa verde (g)

Aubergine caponata - smoky aubergine with tangy capers, basil & pine nuts (v, ve)

Our styling is always included for all events at The Mowbray - blooms, candles - set, styled and presented beautifully for you...It's something we love to do for you before any Wedding Feast or Private Dining experience with us.
