Steak Night - if you’re a Mowbray Supper Club regular needs little introduction - it’s an absolute treat of an evening - and one of our most popular supper clubs. It is a true reflection of our ethos. Top notch ingredients, led by the seasons and cooked simply but with skill and passion. 

Join us for an evening of candlelit feasting in the ambient beauty of The Mowbray on Saturday the 29th of January. As ever - we’ll have an excellent vegetarian feast option and we cater to all dietary requirements. 

Steak Night is always a super fun evening - plenty of cocktails, excellent red wine, an abundant feast and a great soundtrack!

Kitchen Notes

The star of Steak Night is Picanha. A Brazilian cut from the rump which has a generous layer of fat which brings flavour and juiciness to the meat. Our Picanhas are aged Yorkshire-bred beef. At 32 days of ageing it develops wonderful flavour without becoming too gamey. We give the meat a simple marinade of garlic & fresh herbs overnight, then chargrill it and roast until perfectly medium rare. We'll be serving it up in the traditional way; sliced, dressed and ready to share.

Ogleshield ‘cream cheese’ & caramelised onion marmalade (v)

Smoked beetroots with watercress & toasted hazelnuts (v, n)

THE MAIN EVENT

Chargrilled 32 Dry aged Yorkshire Picanha with a spicy chimichurri salsa (parsley, coriander, chilli, olive oil) 

for our vegetarian guests

Chargrilled portobello mushrooms topped with chive & garlic cream cheese, topped with crispy pangrattato breadcrumbs (v)

SIDES TO SHARE

Grilled broccoli with romesco sauce and spiced almonds (v, n)

Leafy salad with house pickles (v)

Skin-on fat cut chips with homemade smoky ketchup (v)

TO FINISH

Baked chocolate torte with amarena cherries & creme fraiche, (v, n)

The Bar

As ever - The Mowbray Bar will have curated a clutch of specialist cocktails designed to complement the Feasting menu - we’re already infusing, brewing and concocting a deliciously bountiful array of flavours, tones and textures to surprise and delight you for this super special Saturday Supper Club! We’ll also have our full bar menu available as well. 

How To Book

Arrivals are from 18.30 if you’d like to start early at the bar! 

We’ll be inviting you to take your seats for dinner at 19.30 - with the Feast beginning at 19.45. 

Just let us know if you’ll be joining us early - otherwise we’ll see you from 19.00. 

All bookings are through our online shop - just leave us a note in the comments box at checkout if you’d like to join us earlier and if you have any dietary requirements we need to know about.
