The Italian Canteen is one of our all time ‘big loves’ when it comes to Mowbray Supper Clubs…
Canteen is always all about the food of love - served up in abundance. Everything on the menu is made by hand in the kitchen from scratch with a lot of love by Emma, Matt and James - and of course ever since we started hosting Supper Clubs - The Italian Canteen with its many different menus - has always been received with lots of love from you!
The Vals & Pals Edition
Feast with your vals, your pals - come as you are, come in a couple or in a gathering - this is all about the love of candlelit feasting, seasonality and a fabulous vibe! It’s about pre-dinner tipples and a delicious bottle of Red with ‘The Main Event’, it’s about an excellent playlist and a relaxed effortless little evening of feasting happiness helped along with a tasty little nightcap.
Mowbray-made rosemary & sea salt focaccia (v, ve, g)
Cavolo nero & hazelnut pesto (v, n)
Taleggio arancini (v, g)
Any gluten free and/or vegan guests will be served preserved tomato & basil baked arancini
THE MAIN EVENT
Slow cooked beef shin ragu pasta ‘al forno’ (g)
Aubergine parmigiana & pasta ‘al forno’ (v, g - also available gluten free and/or vegan)
Gluten free or vegan? We will be making delicious gluten free/vegan versions of our aubergine parmigiana, if you would like one please let us know when you check out*
Charred radicchio & fennel with blood orange dressing (v, ve)
Cannellini beans braised with pancetta, white wine, rosemary & smoked garlic
Without pancetta for any vegetarian/vegan guests
Amalfi lemon & almond torta with mascarpone & blackcurrants (v, g, n)

Please note, not all allergens are indicated here
*The beef shin ragu will contain gluten, dairy & egg - if you need a meal without any of these present, please order the Aubergine parmigiana and let us know your requirements in the comments box when you check out.
As ever - The Mowbray Bar will have curated a clutch of specialist cocktails designed to complement the feasting menu. We’ll also have our full bar menu available as well.
How To Book
Arrivals are from 18.00 if you’d like to start early at the bar!
We’ll be inviting you to take your seats for dinner at 19.30 - with the Feast beginning at 19.45.
Just let us know if you’ll be joining us early - otherwise we’ll see you from 19.00.
