A Joyous Celebration of Movement
We invite you to join us on Sunday 15th of January to tap into great vibes giving your mind, body and soul a beautiful start to 2023.
We’re delighted to welcome a special guest - Rebecca Lee Close (pictured) to The Mowbray for the first time to enjoy super special times with a gentle group of like minds for our annual Winter Retreat - RESET.
RESET - Our Winter Retreat
Hosted on a Sunday morning - come and join us on your mat in the delectably warm, candlelit and cosy interior of The Mowbray for a joyous celebration of movement.
We have practised with Rebecca many times over the years - and her classes are always joyful, playful and give you such a spring in your step. Her natural enthusiasm and vibrancy are thoroughly heart warming and give you such a boost that really does nourish and sustain you long after you leave her class.
09.00 - Arrivals & Settling
We'll welcome you into soothing surrounds and sounds of our Winter retreat with a warm brew of goodness to help you settle in and relax on your mat.
09.30 - The Yoga
Rebecca will guide you through a 90 minute flow which will help you shrug off the weight of winter with a focus on shedding tension and heaviness, twisting and rinsing out to welcome in lightness and joy to prepare you for a new year.
Be ready to flow into a feeling of wellness and slip most luxuriously into the space you’ll create with movement and mobility to suit your body. You’ll step off your mat feeling spacious and lengthened to symbolise an openness to receive the opportunity and potential that the new year offers.
We will finish with a restorative yoga ‘nidra’. This ancient practice takes you to a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the 'going-to-sleep' stage. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, where you'll become systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. It is an immensely powerful meditation technique, but easy and accessible to all with no yoga experience required.
11.00 - FEAST
A Middle Eastern Inspired Feast
After we ‘twist and rinse it out’ you will be rewarded with a delicious and nourishing feast for brunch. We hand over to the creative force of The Mowbray Kitchen who is famed for tasty seasonally delicious dishes served up feasting style of course! One thing is for sure - you’re in for a treat - and just the thing to extend the glow in your heart into your tum!

About Rebecca
I am Canadian born, living in Sheffield with my kids, dog, and husband, I’ve been teaching yoga for nearly 7 years now and practising for 20. I lived a very international life before settling in Sheffield, my previous trade was ‘Ships Captain’ - not conducive to family life as the womb holder in the relationship!
I found yoga as a way to practice self-care mentally and physically while I was restricted to movement in my cabin at sea, away from studios, teachers, and regular time schedules.
My training is originally in Anusara based yoga which focuses on alignment principles. I’ve developed my teaching to include restorative, yin, pain-care, postnatal, mobility, and move-with-love practices. My classes are varied energy wise depending on who’s in attendance and what the overall focus is. They are always light-hearted, detail-oriented, and full of options to suit nearly all bodies.
