Wine & Snacks!

Join us for a beautiful Saturday evening on Kelham Island for a taste sensational early Summer evening under The Chimney House’s historic beams. There’s something so special about being next to the water, the cobblestone streets and of course The Chimney House itself!

Bodega Social is all about wines and Spanish nibbles! Our lovely friends at Tenaya will be pouring five fantastic wines from Spain, and The Mowbray Kitchen will be serving up a tasty selection of deli snacks from Brindisa.

Brindisa have been importing cheese, charcuterie & provisions from Spain since 1988 and are renowned for bringing fine Spanish food to their shops & restaurants in London - and now to us!

Tenaya is a neighbourhood wine shop and bar based in Crookes focusing on female producers, sustainability and most importantly introducing delicious wine! Virginia and Sarah have both spent time in California and were really inspired by the laidback wine shops and bars there and wanted to bring back this relaxed approach to Sheffield…We're really looking forward to learning about some amazing Spanish wines!

Tickets to Bodega Social are limited - due to the boutique size of The Chimney House - be quick!!

The Wines

Barbadillo Patinegro / Cadíz, Spain / 100% Palomino

A really interesting white from a producer that has been making Manzanilla Sherry for 200 years. Small scale, organic wine which has been aged for a year in old Manzanilla casks which imparts the Flor salinity you'd expect from a Sherry, but with a fresher edge. Utterly unique and the perfect aperitif! A percentage of the money made goes towards helping protect the nesting sites of Kentish Plover bird.

Idilicum Cava / Utiel-Requena, Valencia, Spain / 100% Macabeo

A lovely fresh style of Cava, with just a hint of underlying richness. Fresh nose of citrus, toast & notes of hay with a citrussy finish.

El Camaron Albariño / Rias Baixas, Spain

A fresh, light & elegant Albariño capturing the purity of the varietal. Full of citrus, minerality & some saltiness. Perfect with seafood or as an aperitif.

Des Andres Sisters, Garganta del Aguila, Spain / Gredos Mountains, Spain / 100% Garnacha

Sisters Ruth & Anna (Ruth studied chemistry in Sheffield!) select parcels of high altitude Garnacha to produce this soft, velvety red. Raspberry & wild strawberries, herb-like aromas such as oregano & thyme make this a fresh & vibrant red.

Caminante Tempranillo

This great-value red is from young, mainly declassified Rioja vines and is packed with red berry aromas. With lots of plum and damson with soft tannins, this is designed to be drunk young.
