Makers Meet Up
We're pleased to be welcoming champions of the UK manufacturing & engineering industry - Make UK to The Mowbray on the 24th of June for their Sheffield Makers Meet Up.
This event really resonates with us as The Mowbray's heritage was firmly rooted in Sheffield's industrial past. The building was originally built in 1889 as a steel merchants and has been used for manufacturing in many forms over the years - we often have past workers, or family of older generations of the building pop in to see the transformation - they sometimes bring photos with them to show how the building looked then.
Of course - if you're a regular to The Mowbray - you'll already know that our design team at 93ft rescued the buildings from derelict and completed a three year restoration of two buildings to create The Mowbray as you see it today.
We used over 20 local businesses in less than a mile's radius to help us with the restoration and renovation - to ensure The Mowbray has a true Sheffield narrative. As well as the interior and exterior design 93ft also designed and made the furniture, architectural lighting and features that all have a story about their provenance and heritage due to the fact the majority are designed and made from reclaimed materials - the bar, the chandeliers, the tables, the stairs to name a couple of key taking points! Make UK are taking part in the Master Cutler's Challenge and are raising funds for two vital local causes - St Luke’s and Rotherham Hospice - it's set to be a fabulous night with a huge guest list of interesting guests - so make sure to come along!

For one evening only, join us at the iconic Sheffield venue - The Mowbray for an opportunity to network with the region's manufacturers and sample the finest produce from local artisan food producers.
Tickets are free but monies raised on the night from donations and raffles will be donated to the Masters Cutler’s Challenge - so remember to bring your wallets!
Guests will have the chance to meet the stall holders with products available to taste and buy.
