We are pulled out all the stops to honour Scotland's Robert Burns with a very special Supper Club! A sublime 5 course feast, Caledonian royalty, a champion piper and the finest Hebridean malts, our Burns Night Feast was a glorious success and certainly one to remember!
Our guests were greeted by a traditional Caledonian piper, tartan toastmasters, and The Mowbray in all it’s candlelit glory, ready for an almighty feast.
We celebrated Rabbie Burns’ 260th Birthday in superb style - with a toast to The Haggis, to The Laddies and The Lassies, some Highland Legends and a magnificent feast with tipples galore!
The Mowbray kitchen served a carefully curated menu - the perfect combination of authentic Scottish flavours and a little Mowbray magic!
To start, Mowbray smoked Wester Ross Salmon and Cheddar Leekie Tart. Followed by Angus rolled beef rib from the Yorkshire Dales with brown butter & rosemary sauce, crispy haggie (a real hit with The Caledonian Society!) and bashed neeps and tatties!
For pud we served toasted oat & highland honey parfait with crushed honeycomb and tipsy raspberries in Edinburgh Rhubarb Gin. Divine! Followed by a great selection of Scottish Artisan Cheeses with crackers and homemade chutney. To finish - Mowbray Shortbread with a wee dram of Ardbeg ‘10 Years’.
Utterly splendid!
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to The Sheffield Caledonian Society for being such wonderful co-hosts and treating our guests to a truly authentic Burns Night experience at The Mowbray!
