We had such a wonderful day hosting Eamon and Mary’s gorgeous Yorkshire wedding at The Mowbray in September.
Eamon and Mary had their heart set on celebrating with us from the word go. Despite being months off completion, they had absolute faith that The Mowbray would polish up to be the glistening diamond it is today!
We welcomed the newlyweds, their family and friends with a glorious champagne reception, of course!
The clouds broke and the sunshine shone for just enough time to capture some gorgeous first moments of married life.
A longtime love of Sheffield’s finest Public Houses inspired their table names… From The Sheaf View & The Cremorne to everybody’s fave - The Broadie. Favours were a tip of the hat to Mary’s family heritage, a red envelope. The traditional Chinese celebration gift. Feasting tables were adorned with in the twinkling candlelight and soft British blooms. Total romance!
We were delighted to help the couple begin their marriage with an epic feast straight from The Mowbray Kitchen!
To start, The Mowbray Focaccia, fresh Pesto dip & Cold Pressed Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil & Balsamic Vinegar. Wild Boar Terrine with Hendos Pickled Shallots & Wholegrain Mustard. Courgette & Leek Fritters with Herby Sour Cream. Whipped English Ricotta, Salted Walnuts & Pickled Plums. A hard act to follow!
The Main Event... Chargrilled 32 Day Aged Yorkshire Picanha Steak, sliced and dressed (a Brazilian cut with a nice piece of fat on top to keep the meat juicy and delicious) - dressed with salsa verde. Whole Roasted Seabass with Lemon & Herbs, Kale with Caramelised Fennel. Chicory, Yorkshire Blue & Walnuts with a finest thick cut chips!
The finale! Chocolate tart with crème fraiche & orange zest. Blueberry frangipane tart with lemon curd & Greek yoghurt.
After a magnificent feast of Yorkshire proportion, came the heartfelt speeches. With and a couple of tears, laughter filled the room - right up to the rafters! Love was well and truly in the air.
Then the party really got started… Eamon and Mary danced the night away with their nearest and dearest to their ultimate soundtrack! A total delight from start to finish.
