A Leap Year Wedding!
A super special day for a special couple! Childhood sweethearts, Jade & Tom tied the knot on the Leap Year this year - 29th February 2020 - surrounded by their gorgeous friends & family.
After saying I do at All Saints Church, they arrived at The Mowbray and were greeted with a glass of fizz from the famous Mowbray Fizz Tower and a bottle of our fav local ale, Pale Rider from Kelham Island Brewery.
We were proud to welcome 78 guests from 15.30 and guest numbers topped up to 130 for a sublime evening party and a grazing table of Workshop Bites.
Sarah from Plume Creative has captured the rich tones of a mid-winter winter wedding - when The Mowbray is cocooned in our thick velvet drapes and all of our architectural feature lights are dimmed down to a twinklesome glow - it makes for full on old school glamour.
Sarah has also captured the pure FUN factor of this wedding... Such a relaxed and merry couple blessed with awesome friends and family!
A Personal Touch
Jade created a special note for each guest which was waiting for them when they took their seats for a Mowbray Feast. A small, meaningful touch that celebrates their relationships with their family & friends.
In the background a slideshow with photos of the gorgeous couple played in the background as everyone tucked into the feast. “Having been together since we were 13yrs old so there was some real beauties in the back catalogue that we wanted to share to make our guests laugh!”.
A Real Family Affair
We really love it when a family pools together to make a wedding jam packed full of loving touches - that just can't be recreated by anyone else! From the Bridal Party flowers curated by Tom's Auntie to Jade's Grandad's Wedding Car - help to create magical family memories. We especially loved the hand written favours for each guest from Jade & Tom...Sometimes it's the tiny details that create all the magic! We really really loved the 'Finally' cake topper!

We slightly edited The Winter Laden Table for Jade & Tom - so there was less emphasis on the starters and a quicker journey into The Main Event!

Our favourite cut of beef, the Picanha 32 day aged Rump Steak, chargrilled and sliced. Dressed with Wild Rocket, shaved Parmigiano Reggiano & Fresh Basil.
Whole Roasted Sea Bass, roasted up with fennel, herbs & lemon. Served with a zingy gremolata dressing, of shallots, parsley & lemon.
For our vegetarian guests
The Mowbray’s Aubergine Parmigiana; slowly roasted Aubergine, baked in the most delicious tomato sauce. Topped with melting mozzarella & crispy Pangrattato (crispy garlic breadcrumbs).

"Our main priority for the day was a relaxed, laid back atmosphere where all our loved ones could be together in one room eating, drinking & dancing – The Mowbray helped us achieve this perfectly.
We can’t thank you enough for taking away all of the stress, hassle & planning that would usually come in the run up to a wedding, we felt like we barely did anything & it all came together so brilliantly.
The venue and in particular the food received so much praise from our guests & there is nothing we would change if we was to repeat the day…only that it would last longer!
