A Tale of Two Houses
Katy and Dan’s magical Chimney House ceremony was an intimate and informal gathering of 40 dear friends and close family. Perhaps the first thing you notice from glancing at Katy and Dan’s wedding day photos (other than Jo Crawford’s beautiful eye for detail) is the newlyweds beaming smiles, all day long - a day filled with effortless style and beautiful memories. Their beautiful candlelit ceremony was followed by a wonderful sharing feast, toasts plenty and some tears of joy. A warm summer’s glow cast over Kelham and dusk began to fall - time to head to The Mowbray for one unforgettable party!
Chic Modernity
As much as we adore a classic gown, we love it when our brides break from tradition. Katy wore beautifully simple tailored trousers by Melvyn John who designs and makes vintage cuts. These bespoke made, high waisted palazzo pants (with all important pockets) stole the show! Katy’s top was from Catherine Deane - the colour and fabric were a perfect match for such magnificent strides!
Simple Styling & Earthy Tones
Katy styled and arranged her own wedding florals. The result - a beautiful palette of tall green stems, soft pinks, rich yellows and earthly orange tones. The tables looked exceptionally beautiful, with our signature candle light and lovely tiny cactus favours, complimenting Katy’s handmade pin badges, each with an individual design, tagged with their names and date - the perfect mini momento! A strong them of independent design ran through Katy carefully curated suppliers list.
The Good Life
Katy and Dan chose The Sharing Table, crammed full of sharing plates and bowls designed to satisfy and indulge. This menu is all about living the good life!
On The Table
Mowbray made chargrilled flatbreads, garlic & coriander oil with perfect house hummus.
The Main Event
British beef brisket, braised and glazed with Mowbray-made barbecue sauce & topped with crispy fried onions., spiced chickpea falafel with tamarind yoghurt.
Served with
Roasted sweet potatoes seasoned with smoked paprika & rosemary salt, spiced red cabbage slaw, roasted jalapeno & cheddar cornbread plus a selection of Mowbray pickles tossed with fresh leaves.
Pudding
Blueberry & lemon Cheesecake, the perfect end to this summer feast!
All Night Long
After a relaxing afternoon of glorious feasting and toasting at it was time to stroll around to The Mowbray where the celebrations really got started! A show stopping 10 pieces soul band and 100 friends and family eagerly awaited the newlyweds to help celebrate! If there was ever a blueprint for a great party - this was it!
Evening Nibbles
To keep the party swinging, we served up fennel and red onion, apple and sage sausage rolls & feta, sun dried tomato and spinach rolls. They went down a total storm!
